My Story...
My journey to becoming a celebrant, came on the back of 34 years as a teacher and Headteacher within special schools. I loved my career but nothing compares to becoming a mum, which I finally achieved through adoption of my beautiful daughter when she was just 10 months old.
For me, family is everything. I’m a daughter, a wife, a step mum, a sister a friend, and each one is a different relationship based on a different history. This patchwork quilt of love is what shapes and influences my work as a celebrant. I am richer for the diversity in my life which these relationships bring.
My experiences in working with people with Autism and Learning Difficulties, has helped me to develop as a passionate communicator both orally and in written form, and through the use of Makaton signing. Unexpected moments are anticipated!
My skills have allowed me to effectively communicate with others during difficult and joyous times, at times of crisis and celebration.
